M4H Annual Back to School Festival

27th of August, 2018

Muslims 4 Humanity hosted its annual back to school give away block party and job fair event at Bryant William C. Elemantary School on 60th & Hazel Avenue. Children, parents and community members alike where all invited to come out and enjoy the various resources, activities and programs available. From 6AM until 11AM community members recived various job and community information, met local officials, and welcomed students to their first school day of the year.

As the hallmark of the event, book bags, clothes and school supplies that were donated by multiple organizations were distibuted out to students and parents. In addition, various community organizations, businesses and groups set up resource tables. Concerened Block Captians, Cristian Compassion and many others donated and distribute bookbags and supplies, Cobbs Creek Rec. Center and Muslims Serve gave out community information, The YMCA, Federal Mint Credit Union and Horizon House distrubuted job info and other resources, and Community Solutions CDC and Mercy Hospital donated uniform vouchers for Forman Mills. These are just a few of the many organizations and businesses that supported this event and many other M4H events in the past.

We’d like to thank everyone who joined us in supporting our kids on their first day of school. We’d also like to put a special spotlight on State Rep. Joanna McClinton, Congressman Dwight Evans, Councilwoman Jannie blackwell, Senator Anthony Williams, State Rep. James Roebuck, Judge Nichols, Police Captain Riley and the Philadelphia Police Department, we thank you for your supporting M4H.

As the school bell rang, community members lined up at the entrance of the school to cheer the students on!
